Your first launch
A walk through the three screens of the launch form and what each check protects you from.
Describe the coin
Pons stores metadata on the token itself and caps it: names up to 64 bytes, image URLs up to 512, descriptions up to 2,048 and each social link up to 256. Link additionally limits tickers to 12 letters or digits.
Drop in a PNG, JPEG or WebP under 4 MB. Your browser crops it to the centre square, scales it to at most 512 pixels and uploads it; the stored file is named after its SHA-256 hash, so the same image always gets the same URL. On a deployment without image hosting the upload is refused and you can paste any https image address instead.
Website links must be https. X and Telegram accept either a handle or a full profile link and are normalised.
Attach a counterpart and set inventory
Type a name or ticker to search indexed Robinhood assets, or paste a contract address. Before the form lets you continue it calls the contract directly and requires working name, symbol and decimals reads. Look-alike tickers are common, so match the address against the issuer.
Next, choose the opening inventory: the share of supply the vault buys on the Pons curve inside the launch transaction. It is capped at 25% (and never more than half of the curve's sellable supply) so a launch can never complete the curve by itself. Those tokens belong to the vault for liquidity use; they are not paid out to you. Zero is a valid choice. Picking a counterpart
Prepare, simulate, sign
Pressing prepare triggers fresh reads rather than trusting cached numbers:
- the Pons launch fee and whether launching is switched on;
- the maximum creator tax Pons allows (it must still permit Link's 2%);
- launch configuration 0 and its economics fingerprint,
previewLaunchEconomics(0, 0x0), which travels with the transaction asexpectedEconomics; - the latest block time, from which a five-minute deadline is set (the factory refuses anything past ten).
The app then simulates LinkFactoryV2.launch from your address with the exact value, launch fee plus opening purchase. The sign button unlocks only if that simulation succeeds, and the summary lists the fee, the purchase, the total, the counterpart and its address, and the network. If Pons edits its terms in the meantime the fingerprint stops matching and the call reverts instead of launching on terms you did not see.
Confirmation and recovery
Once submitted, the hash is saved in your browser. Success requires two things: a receipt with status success and a ProjectLaunched log emitted by the configured factory. The app also re-reads the mined transaction and compares destination, calldata, value and sender with what you reviewed. Close the tab and come back, and the saved hash is checked before a new launch can even be prepared. Fixing problems
